ADA Paratransit service is available for persons with disabilities who live within ¾ mile of MTA’s local Ft. Bragg , Willits or Ukiah bus routes. This service is by advance reservation and requires ADA certification. For ADA information please call 707-462-1422

Passenger rail service between Northern Santa Rosa and Downtown San Rafael, Disability accessible.
Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) offers passenger rail service in Sonoma and Marin counties. SMART’s initial 43 miles of rail corridor includes 10 stations, from the Sonoma County Airport to Downtown San Rafael. Future extensions include: Larkspur, which is scheduled to be completed in 2019; Windsor; Healdsburg; and Cloverdale.
Accessibility
SMART provides rail transit service that is accessible to passengers with disabilities. SMART’s platforms and trains are fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Clipper Card vending machines on SMART platforms are also ADA compliant. SMART trains have ADA accessible restrooms and seating. Onboard SMART personnel are available to assist with onboarding and exiting the train, and with any other needs that may arise.
The City of Santa Rosa offers next-day ADA Paratransit transportation service seven days a week to those who are unable (temporarily or permanently) to independently use Santa Rosa CityBus due to a disability or health related condition. This service is provided within three-quarters (¾) of a mile from existing CityBus routes as part of the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The service is shared-ride public transportation that is available for all trip purposes (including shopping, higher education, medical appointments, and work). The City of Santa Rosa takes pride in providing high quality, safe, reliable and courteous transportation service. Santa Rosa Paratransit is highly subsidized. The one-way paratransit fare of $3.00 (which is double the adult fixed-route fare) covers a very small fraction of the overall cost of the trip, which is approximately $30 per one-way trip.
The City of Santa Rosa has hired contractors to perform paratransit services on our behalf. C.A.R.E. Evaluators is the contractor that the public calls to schedule an in-person eligibility interview. Once you have received your paratransit eligibility card, contact MV Transportation (Santa Rosa’s paratransit service contractor), to request your trips. The City of Santa Rosa monitors, manages, sells tickets and generally ensures a high-quality paratransit service.

We provide door-to-door paratransit service to people whose disabilities prevent them from using fixed route public transit. These vans vary their routes based on riders’ destinations, but must be scheduled in advance.
Eligibility
Individuals interested in using Sonoma County Paratransit service must be registered and certified as ADA eligible before using the service. To apply for ADA paratransit service, call Sonoma County Transit at 707-585-7516 to request an application be mailed to you. Complete the application and return to Sonoma County Transit. Americans with Disabilities complimentary door to door transportation for ADA-eligible persons within Petaluma is available. Paratransit provides rides to persons who, due to a disability, are unable to utilize Petaluma Transit’s fixed route bus service for some or all of their trips.
